Methyl Iodide Used in PharmaceuticalsMethyl Iodide Used in Pharmaceuticals

Iodomethane (Methyl iodide) is a colorless liquid. It can be prepared by reacting dimethyl sulfate with concentrated KI. In terms of chemical structure, it is related to methane by replacement of one hydrogen atom by an atom of iodine. It is naturally emitted by riceplantations in small amounts. It is also produced in vast quantities estimated to be greater than 214,000 tons annually by algae and kelp in the world's temperate oceans, and in lesser amounts on land by terrestrial fungi and bacteria. Iodomethane, more commonly called methyl iodide (MeI) is a volatile organic compound used in many chemical reactions. It is an excellent methylating agent that is used in pharmaceutical synthesis as well as many organic syntheses. It is a vital catalyst for acetic acid manufacture and is an EPA registered soil fumigant. Approved pesticides, used to control insect, plant parasitic nematodes, soil borne pathogenes and weed seeds etc. Application: It is used in organic synthesis as a sou

Application of α-olefin SulfonateApplication of α-olefin Sulfonate

AOS (α-olefin sulfonate sodium salt) has very good comprehensive properties. It has mature technology, reliable quality and good detergency. Especially in hard water, it also shows the characteristic that the pollution power is basically not reduced. AOS has good biodegradability, and has been mass-produced and used in Japan, South Korea, India, and the United States. In China, it is being developed in fields such as oil field additives, starch processing aids, acrylate emulsion polymerization, mercerizing of cotton, wool washing, textile and paper wetting agents. It is expected that in the near future, α-olefin sulfonate will become a new generation of main synthetic detergent raw materials, and is widely used in household and industrial detergents. AOS is as gentle as AES, while LAS and AS are much more irritating than AOS. Therefore, AOS has a wide range of uses in personal care products. AOS is extremely stable under acidic conditions, and the skin of normal people is weakly aci

What Are the Advantages of DMC Catalyst?

DMC catalyst is a new type of high-performance catalytic olefin oxide ring-opening polymerization catalyst, suitable for synthesis of olefin oxide polyether containing 1-6 functional groups. DMC catalyst manufacturers usually use low molecular weight organic complexing agents. The complexing agents beneficially affect the activity of the catalyst for epoxide polymerization. The production of polyether with DMC catalyst has the following advantages: Low production and running costs 1) No post-processing process and faster reaction speed increase the production capacity of the device by several times. 2) No post-treatment process reduces equipment investment, unit product energy consumption and water consumption, unit product solid waste and waste water production, and improves product yield. 3) It can produce higher molecular weight products with molecular weight of more than 2000 per mole of hydroxyl group. 4) The produced polyether has the characteristics of narrow molecular weigh

Production and Function of Monoammonium Glycyrrhizinate

Monoammonium glycyrrhizinate in China is a chemical substance. This product is mainly used for the treatment of chronic persistent hepatitis, chronic active hepatitis, liver poisoning, and early liver cirrhosis. Production method It is obtained by using crude glycyrrhizic acid (content about 50%, weight method) as raw material and acidic ethanol as extractant. 50g crude glycyrrhizic acid was added to 170ml of 95% ethanol acidified with hydrochloric acid (Ph value 3.5 ~ 4.0), and stirred and extracted at 40 ~ 50 ℃ for 4h. After filtration, the filter residue was extracted with 100 ml of ethanol under the same conditions for 3 hours. The extracts were combined, and ammonia water or ammonia gas was added dropwise with stirring to make the Ph of the solution 7.2 to 7.5, and allowed to stand at room temperature for 0.5 h to completely precipitate. The precipitate is triammonium glycyrrhizinate, which is dispersed into a paste with an appropriate amount of glacial acetic acid. If necessa
