Characteristics of Alpha Olefin Sulfonate

Alpha olefin sulfonate is a formaldehyde-free solution of sodium c14-c16 that preserved by mCi/MI. It has excellent viscosity, hard water stability, detergency, foam characteristics and pH stability in wide pH range, so it can be used in many applications. Compared with lauryl sulfate, alpha olefin sulfonate is a mild surfactant, which can be used in high performance sulfate free, shampoo, shower gel, hand sanitizer and pet care formula. It is very effective in unloading poor fluids and particles from gas producing wells. It has excellent thermal stability at temperatures up to 400 ° F. The product is easily biodegradable.

Ordinary alpha olefins are excellent intermediates for the production of alpha olefin sulfonate (AOS) surfactants. These surfactants have excellent detergency, high compatibility with hard water, good wetting and foaming properties. AOS does not contain skin irritants and sensitizers, and it can be rapidly biodegraded. It is used in high quality shampoo, light liquid detergent, bath foam and heavy liquid and powder detergents. It is also used in emulsion polymerization. C14-c16 AOS mixture is commonly used in hand sanitizers.

In order to prepare AOS, the common alpha olefins were sulfonated in a continuous membrane reactor to produce a mixture of olefin sulfonic acid and sulfonactone (cyclic sulfonate). The mixture was neutralized with sodium hydroxide aqueous solution, and then hydrolyzed at elevated temperature to convert the remaining sulfolactone into alkene sulfonate and hydroxysulfonate. This produces an aqueous solution of alpha olefin sulfonate. (if solid anhydrous products are required, the solution can be easily obtained by neutralizing and hydrolyzing isopropanol instead of water).

The Difference Between Nitrile Rubber and NBR LatexThe Difference Between Nitrile Rubber and NBR Latex

Affected by public health incidents, NBR latex   is like a dark horse that has attracted the attention of the international market. Nitrile rubber and NBR latex are very different in use.   1. The difference in performance between nitrile rubber and NBR latex Nitrile rubber is produced by emulsion polymerization of butadiene and acrylonitrile. Nitrile rubber is mainly produced by low-temperature emulsion polymerization. It has excellent oil resistance, high abrasion resistance, good heat resistance, and strong adhesion. . Its disadvantages are poor low temperature resistance, poor ozone resistance, poor insulation performance, and slightly lower elasticity. Nitrile rubber is mainly used to make oil-resistant rubber products.   Carboxylic nitrile latex is obtained by introducing methacrylic acid or methacrylate ternary copolymer during polymerization. Since the carboxyl nitrile nitrile latex introduces a more polar carboxyl group into the molecular backbone, it furt...

What is GLycolic Acid?

We like to focus on the ingredients of beauty products. But we prefer to touch the product and explore whether it really works. Alpha hydroxy acid is also known as AHA. It includes glycolic acid , lactic acid and citric acid. These products do not meet the needs.   Now we analyze the most popular ingredient in the world - glycolic acid.   Glycolic acid is a naturally occurring substance that is added to skin care products. It is good for the skin and restores skin elasticity and moisturization. The original state of glycolic acid is a powder composed of colorless crystals. It is tasteless. Let's first understand its benefits and its related products.   The Benefits of Glycolic Acid Glycolic acid is very effective for skin treatment because of its high purity. The premise is safe and correct use. Many skin care products contain glycolic acid. Sensitive muscles can also be used. Glycolic acid is non-irritating and it can be used in skin care. Add more glycolic acid t...
